For The Person Who Will Pick You Up After Being Discharged

We ask that you notify your driver no later than the night before your departure. Your driver should:

• Call your unit to confirm your discharge plans
  
  
• Park in the Parking Garage off Elmwood, except for family or friends picking up patients from Behavioral Health. For Behavioral Health, parking is available across from the Department of Psychiatry on Crittenden Boulevard.
  
  
• Bring in weather-appropriate clothing for the ride home.
  
  
• Go to the inpatient unit and check with the secretary to see if the discharge paperwork is complete.
  
  
• Help with packing personal belongings and flowers.
  
  
• When you are ready to leave, go to the Parking Garage and move the car to the Patient Discharge Area. This is located at the Crittenden Boulevard side of the main lobby (the loop area). A volunteer or staff member will transport the patient to the discharge area.
