Therapy options may include:

• Treatment of underlying causes, such as hypertension
• Hearing aids or a cochlear implant
• Assistive listening devices, such as telephone amplifiers
• Removal of earwax by your health care provider
• Ear plugs or ear muffs to prevent further damage from loud or prolonged exposure to noise
