Instructions For the Person Picking You Up From Your In-Patient Hospital Stay

We ask that you notify your driver of your anticipated discharge as soon as we notify you of the target date and time. Your driver will experience the fewest difficulties in escorting you home if he or she:

  • Parks in the Parking Garage off Elmwood Avenue.
  • Brings weather-appropriate clothing for you.
  • Goes to the inpatient unit where you are staying and checks with the unit secretary to determine if the discharge paperwork is complete.
  • Helps you pack personal belongings and bring them to the car.
  • Understands that a volunteer or staff member will help transport you from your room to the discharge area.
  • Picks you up at the Patient Discharge Area, located off the Crittenden Blvd. side of the hospital.
