Planning For Your Discharge

Nurse talking to patient

Your surgeon and health care team will facilitate your discharge and continued medical care. This team will meet with you during your hospital stay, identify your aftercare requirements, and review with you the resources you will require at the time of discharge.

On the day of discharge, we would ask that you make arrangements to leave the hospital by 10:00 a.m.. Early discharge enables us to prepare for other patients who will be admitted later that day.

Before you leave...

Make sure you understand your treatment plan, medications and/or supplies.

Discharge Concerns

We notify all patients in advance of the planned time of discharge. If you do not believe you are medically ready to leave the hospital, you have the right to appeal. Ask your nurse for information on how to appeal the decision to discharge.
