Lab Director
Dr. Paige is a renowned scientist actively engaged in research on balance and spatial orientation. In addition to directing of the Balance and Eye Movement Laboratory, he provides specialty clinical services on balance disorders and dizziness. He also teaches in a variety of education venues at the University of Rochester campus-wide.
Dr. Paige attended the University of California at Irvine, followed by medical and graduate school at the University of Chicago as part of a combined M.D.-Ph.D. program. He completed residency training in ophthalmology at the University of California, San Francisco, before accepting a faculty position at Washington University School of Medicine in the Department of Otolaryngology. He was recruited to the Department of Neurology at the University of Rochester in 1990 to build the multidisciplinary clinical and research effort now in place. He is Professor and Chair of the Department of Neurobiology and Anatomy, with joint appointments in the Departments of Neurology, Ophthalmology, Brain and Cognitive Science, and Biomedical Engineering.
