Richard King, M.D.

Richard King is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center specializing in the care of burn trauma. Dr. King received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and his M.D. from New York Medical College. After completing a surgical internship at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, Dr. King finished his general surgery training and a surgical critical care fellowship at the Penn State/ Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
Dr. King previously served as a medical officer in the United States Army, where he was assigned to NATO Headquarters, Allied Forces North Europe in the Netherlands. During that time he coordinated medical support and evacuation for multinational personnel deployed to Bosnia
and Kosovo.
Dr. King is a member of the American Burn Association and the Society of Critical Care Medicine. His special interests include burn and trauma care, disaster response, and emergency surgery.
