Electrophysiology (EP) and Cardiac Catheterization Labs

Research and Innovation

"Strong’s EP and Catheterization Labs are leading the medical community in research in these areas. The benefit to our local community is that people can not only be a part of these clinical trials, but when these leading-edge treatments are approved, Strong already has years of experience performing them."

-Richard M. Pomerantz, M.D., Chief of Clinical Cardiology

One of the hallmarks of high-quality patient care is a medical center’s willingness to try new things, to grow as a provider, and to support critical and creative thinking among its physicians. Research and innovation are priorities in Strong’s Electrophysiology and Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories, enabling patients to take advantage of innovative new protocols and treatments that are continually extending the knowledge and scope of interventional cardiology.

Strong Memorial Hospital's Electrophysiology Labs, led by Director James P. Daubert, M.D., offer arrhythmia, pacemaker, and implantable defibrillator services and the newest technologies, including 3-D heart mapping and implantable rhythm recorders. Because of the large patient volumes and the team's record of expertise, Strong continues to be one of the first centers sought out by industry when a new device is ready for clinical use.
