Strong Health Nuclear Cardiology

Strong Health nuclear cardiology laboratories are fully accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for Accreditation of Nuclear Laboratories (ICANL).

The labs do more than 2,500 nuclear cardiology studies annually.

Our staff includes several attending physicians and senior fellows in nuclear cardiology, plus a team of nuclear medicine technologists and nurses.

What Nuclear Cardiology Tests Can Do

Blood flow through the heart, and the heart’s ability to pump, are two major predictors of cardiac health. Our nuclear cardiology tests help doctors:

  • Look for coronary artery disease by assessing myocardial blood flow
  • Evaluate the pumping function of the heart
  • Image the nervous system of the heart
  • Visualize the areas of the heart that have been damaged by infection or a heart attack
  • Detect heart transplant rejection and monitor the status of the heart muscle
  • Check the effectiveness of bypass surgery
  • Select patients most likely to benefit from angioplasty or bypass surgery
  • Predict outcomes in patients with heart disease
Ronald G. Schwartz, MD

Ronald G. Schwartz, M.D.,

M.S., F.A.C.C., Director of Nuclear Cardiology, wants to spread the word about the ability of nuclear medicine to identify problems very early in the progression of a disease.

That means faster treatment and more successful
prognoses.
