What Nuclear Cardiology Tests Can Do
Blood flow through the heart, and the hearts ability to pump, are two major predictors of cardiac health. Our nuclear cardiology tests help doctors:
- Look for coronary artery disease by assessing myocardial blood flow
- Evaluate the pumping function of the heart
- Image the nervous system of the heart
- Visualize the areas of the heart that have been damaged by infection or a heart attack
- Detect heart transplant rejection and monitor the status of the heart muscle
- Check the effectiveness of bypass surgery
- Select patients most likely to benefit from angioplasty or bypass surgery
- Predict outcomes in patients with heart disease
