Kidney Transplant Program

At times, the best treatment for advanced kidney disease is to provide a child with a new kidney from a living or deceased donor. Our pediatric nephrologists work in conjunction with the Division of Solid Organ Transplantation at Strong Memorial Hospital to form a team of doctors and surgeons highly trained and experienced in the intricacies of transplant as well as pediatric surgery.

If your child requires a kidney transplant, your child's pediatrician, nephrologist and a social worker will guide you through the process of waiting for a donor, interim treatment, the surgical process, recovery, and long-term care.

We are recognized as a United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) transplant center.
