Pediatric Rheumatology/Immunology
The Division of Pediatric Rheumatology / Immunology of the Department
of Pediatrics, Golisano Children’s Hospital at Strong, provides
diagnosis and treatment for children and adolescents with rheumatologic
conditions, such as juvenile
arthritis, systemic
lupus erythematosus, dermatomyositis
and other autoimmune conditions. We also treat musculoskeletal
disorders such as hypermobility
syndrome, patello-femoral
pain syndrome as well as immmunodeficiency disorders. Each
year, we treat over 450 patients from a large geographical area
in Western and Central New York State.

In addition, we are actively committed to training current and
future physicians in the science and practice of pediatric rheumatology
and immunology while participating in research as to the causes,
treatment and prevention of these disorders.
We work in close collaboration with the Western New York Chapter
of the Arthritis Foundation, including participation on the
Rochester
Scientific Advisory Committee, and Rochester Board. The chapter
provides support for our occupational therapist.
