Social Work
Our Team
Social Work services are available for hospital admissions and outpatient visits. A social worker is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our regular business hours are 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, and 8:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. on Saturday and Sunday. Please contact your nurse to request a social worker during or after these hours.
Our pediatric social workers have obtained master's degrees (L.M.S.W.) from accredited schools and have extensive experience helping children and families with their health care issues. Social workers work within one subspecialty, allowing them to develop expertise with a specific chronic illness, and how the illness affects patients and families. Continuity of care is important to our patients and to us. For this reason, whenever possible, the same social worker will support you throughout your child's care.
