Division of Neurodevelopmental and Behavioral Pediatrics

The Division of Neurodevelopmental and Behavioral Pediatrics provides a variety of services to children with developmental disabilities and delays, including:
Diagnostic Evaluation of Children suspected of having a developmental disability. Diagnostic and specialty health care and direct patient services are provided in the Andrew J. Early Intervention Core Evaluations for children suspected of having a developmental delay. We have particular expertise in evaluating children with complex health care needs.
Early Intervention Supplemental Evaluations are performed at the request of Early Intervention Agencies, for children already receiving Early Intervention services, who are in need of additional diagnostic or functional evaluation by a developmental pediatrician, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech/ language pathologist, pediatric nurse practitioner, audiologist or psychologist.
Diagnostic Evaluations for children with developmental delays in order to identify possible causes of the delays assist families in understanding their child’s developmental differences and assist the family, primary care provider and educational system in implementing interventions.
Educational Testing to identify specific disorders such as ADHD or Asperger’s Syndrome and to identify strengths and weaknesses of children with developmental disabilities .Recommendation can be made to make learning more achievable. Teaching strategies are shared to foster the school team’s ability to work with children with developmental disabilities and to include them in the least restrictive educational environment.
