Pediatric Cleft and Craniofacial Center
Dr. Chin-To Fong
Dr.
Fong is an experienced geneticist whose clinical expertise is
in genetic craniofacial and developmental disorders. Dr. Fong
received his clinical and research training at St. Louis Children’s
Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine in St.
Louis.
He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, and certified
as Clinical Geneticist and Clinical Biochemical Geneticist
by
the American Board of Medical Genetics. For the past 13 years,
he has been at the University of Rochester School of Medicine
and Dentistry, where he holds academic appointments in the Department
of Pediatrics and the Eastman School of Dentistry.
Dr. Fong’s past research interests have included the genetics of neuroblastoma and neurofibromatosis type I, and experimental gene therapy. His current research focus is on the genetics of cleft lip and palate. In recent years, Dr. Fong has devoted much of his time in medical education and is currently the Director of Genetics Education of the Double Helix Curriculum at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.
Dr. Fong is a member of the American Society of Human Genetics, the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
