Jennifer West, M.D.
Fostering resiliency. Children growing up with facial differences can experience many psychosocial hurdles. With her exceptional training, Dr. West brings sensitivity and practicality to her interactions with patients and their families. She understands how important it is for children to develop a repertoire of effective strategies to cope with the unique challenges that they may encounter and a strong sense of self-worth so that they grow up to be healthy, confident individuals.
Dr. West completed her psychology degree at Mount Holyoke College. She then achieved a doctoral degree in clinical psychology at the University of Denver. Following her clinical internship at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, Dr. West completed postdoctoral fellowships in Adolescent Health and Pediatric Psychology.
She is now an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Pediatrics and coordinates the Outpatient Pediatric Behavioral Health Consultation Team. Dr. West’s clinical expertise on psychosocial issues related to chronic medical conditions in childhood and her empathic approach make her an invaluable asset to our team and to our young patients and their families.
