The Neonatal Tracking Program

The Neonatal Tracking Program is a service that monitors all babies who have been discharged from our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Some babies born very early and some full term infants with difficulties at birth can develop more slowly. They may have problems sitting, standing or walking, seeing, hearing, learning or speaking clearly. Because of this, the neonatologists have developed a tracking program to help identify the children with these problems early, since treatment is available and starting it early does help.

The tracking program is questionnaires sent to you and your pediatrician at regular intervals. The information you provide will help us identify if your child is developing differently. If so, we will help you get the proper developmental services. The information you provide also helps us evaluate the quality of our neonatal care so that we can continue to improve it. The information you provide will be confidential.
