Food Labels
Several years ago, the US Food and Drug Administration began requiring all food manufacturers to post nutritional information on all products. These labels can be very helpful to consumers, providing information on recommended serving size, calories, and fat and sodium content, as well as nutritional value.
Information on food labels can be trusted - the food companies are required by law to provide accurate and reliable information.
A typical food label looks something like this:
