High Calorie, High Protein Diet Guidelines for Kids - Milkshake Recipes

1 cup whole milk

1/4 cup dry milk powder

Add dry milk powder to whole milk, and beat until dissolved. Refrigerate. 259 19
High Protein Milkshake

1 cup whole milk

1/4 cup dry milk powder

3/4 cup ice cream

Add ice cream and milk powder to milk and beat well. 485 24
Banana Yogurt Shake

1/2 cup whole milk

1/2 cup plain yogurt

1 medium, ripe banana

Pour milk into blender. Add yogurt and banana and blend until smooth. Other fruit can be used in place of the banana. 250 10
Pineapple Smoothie

1/4 cup crushed pineapple

1/2 cup vanilla yogurt

1/2 cup whole milk

1 tsp lemon juice

Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth. 230 9
Peanut Butter Shake

1/2 cup whole milk

2 Tbs dry milk powder

1 Tbs smooth peanut butter

1/2 cup vanilla ice cream

1 envelope strawberry instant breakfast

1 cup whole milk

1/4 cup dry milk powder

1/3 cup strawberry yogurt

6 ice cubes

OJ and Cinnamon Smoothie

1 envelope vanilla instant breakfast

1 cup whole milk

1/4 cup dry milk powder

3 Tbs thawed orange juice concentrate

1/8 tsp ground cinnamon

6 ice cubes

Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth. 489 26
Fruit Shake

1/2 banana

1/2 cup half-n-half

1/3 cup dry milk powder

Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth. 364 18
Frozen Yogurt Fruit Pops

1 cup plain yogurt

1/4 cup dry milk powder

2 Tbs. sugar

1 cup canned fruit

4 popsicle sticks

Place yogurt, milk powder and sugar in a blender. Cover and blend until dissolved. Add fruit, and blend until smooth. Pour into 4 oz. plastic cups and freeze until almost set. Place a popsicle stick in the center of each. Freeze until firm. 132 per pop 5 per pop
Mocha-Banana Shake

1 envelope chocolate instant breakfast

1 cup whole milk

1/4 cup dry milk powder

1 medium ripe banana

1/2 tsp instant coffee crystals

Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth. 494 27

1 cup whole milk

1/2 cup sliced strawberries

1/4 cup dry milk powder

1 Tbs sugar

1/4 tsp vanilla extract

1 medium peach cut into chunks

1/4 cup dry milk powder

1/2 cup lemon or peach yogurt

4 ice cubes

Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth. 260 16
Hawaiian Slush

6 oz. Hawaiian Punch

1/3 cup dry milk powder

1/2 cup lemon sherbet

1 Tbs sugar

3 ice cubes

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend for about 10 seconds. Fruit juice can be used in place of the Hawaiian Punch. 415 16
