Patient Meals

Unless your child's doctor has indicated that your child needs to be on a special diet, you can select meals daily. If your child misses a regular meal because they are out of the room for tests, talk to your nurse about alternate meal arrangements.

Meals are delivered at approximately:

  • 8:00 a.m.- breakfast
  • 12:00 noon - lunch
  • 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. - dinner

Midmorning, afternoon, and evening snacks are available on the unit. You may ask your nurse if your child would like a snack. You are also welcome to bring food from home.

A microwave and refrigerator are available for parents. All food kept in the refrigerator must be labeled with your child's name and date. Food is allowed in patient's rooms only during mealtimes. We ask that you please keep the rooms clean and discard/store uneaten food appropriately.

A special refrigerator for breast milk is maintained in each room for nursing mothers.
