Our Approach to Patient Care

In an emergency, every minute counts in providing the best care. At the Highland Hospital Emergency Department, this not only means quality medical care, it also means personalized attention to our patients' emotional and spiritual needs as well.

Our emergency room staff sets high standards for caring for you, and we take pride in meeting and exceeding these standards. Our staff is well-prepared to meet the demands of the emergency room, and over half of our doctors board-certified in Emergency Medicine. We have a pre-code red plan in place that helps ensure we are always able to meet the needs of emergency room patients. While we are certainly able to reduce the number of instances where we have to go code red, there are times when it is unavoidable. The community has recognized the quality of care offered at Highland Hospital, as the number of patients admitted to the emergency room has doubled over the last five years.

Although we hope that you are never in need of our services, if you or a loved one ever experiences a medical emergency, know that Highland Hospital is here for you in every way.
