Funding for SMH clinical education programs comes from the New York/New Jersey AIDS Education and Training Center (NY/NJ AETC) and the NYSDOH AIDS Institute's HIV Clinical Education Initiative (CEI).

Through a grant made possible by Albany Medical College and funded by the The New York/New Jersey AIDS Education and Training Center (NY/NJ AETC), Strong Memorial Hospital is one of four centers in Upstate New York that offers intense clinical training in HIV care for physicians, nurse practitioners and physicians assistants.

This intensive training program incorporates

  • Lectures
  • Self-instruction in the form of reading
  • 24 hours of experience in the medical and dental clinics

Requirements for participating:

    1) You must be practicing in New York State.

If you are not, you may apply to a mini-residence program through another AETC. Log onto www.aetc.com to establish a contact in your area.

    2) You must be a M.D., PA or NP to apply for the mini-residency program at Strong Memorial Hospital. RN's may apply as openings permit.

Dentists are directed to the Albany Medical Location.
