Research
Dr. Goodman is principal investigator, site-principal investigator,
or on national and international steering committees for numerous
clinical trials of new therapies for multiple sclerosis. He collaborates
with Dr. Steven Schwid in clinical research of multiple sclerosis.
In the laboratory, he is collaborating with Dr. David Mock and
Dr. James Powers to investigate the role of viruses such as human
herpes virus 6 and other viral agents in the pathogenesis of
demyelinative diseases.
Academic Activity

One-half day weekly for outpatient residents’ clinic

One full month yearly as Attending Neurologist on clinical
inpatient teaching services in Strong Memorial Hospital
-
Lecturer
on topics in neuroimmunology to neurology residents and
medical students (e.g., IHHI) as well as in CME settings
at regional hospitals and grand rounds in various URMC clinical departments

Lecturer on neuroimmunology and demyelinative diseases
for the graduate course on biology of neurologic disease
