Nurse Residency Program Now Accepting Applications!

April 1st is the deadline for nursing students to apply for the coolest program in town! The Nurse Residency Program is a paid summer opportunity (from early June –mid August) open to eligible student nurses who want to expand their clinical skills under the direction of a Nurse Mentor. The program offers work and learning opportunities for the student nurse who desires to better prepare for professional nursing practice.

Nurse Managers interview the applicants and select the individuals for their unit based on interest and department compatibility. This year we are including 10 departments in the Nurse Residency Program. This is a phenomenal program for everyone involved.

Applicants

To be eligible for the program, you must meet the following requirements

  • Current enrollment and completion of one year of clinical experience in an accredited school of nursing program
  • A GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • CPR Certification
  • HH Employee Health Requirements

Now is the Time to Get Your BSN!!!!

The University of Rochester School of Nursing (URSON) has been awarded several grants to provide students in the RN to BS and the RN to BS to MS programs tuition assistance for URSON courses.

This grant, in conjunction with Highland tuition reimbursement program, will allow students to complete the program more quickly, without sacrificing the quality of their learning experiences, and thereby, meet the health workforce needs of local and regional, urban and rural communities.   To be eligible for this grant, students must be:

  • matriculated in the URSON RN to BS or RN to BS to MS programs;
  • employed by a Strong Health affiliate;
  • demonstrate financial need; and
  • commit to taking a minimum of two courses/semester for the duration of the grant.
