Stanley Chang, M.D. - Columbia University
School of Medicine: Snell Memorial Lecturer

Dr. Chang is the Edward S. Harkness Professor and Chair of Ophthalmology at Columbia University School of Medicine as well
the Director of the Edward S. Harkness Eye Institute. He is a world reknowned retinal specialist whose clinical interests include diabetic retinopathy, vitreoretinal surgery, complex retinal detachments and macular disorders in addition to his research interests in diadetic retinopathy, macular degeneration and
recurrent retinal detachment.

Dr. Chang completed his medical degree at Columbia University School of Medicine and his residency at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary at Harvard University. From there he went onto a Fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases at the University of Miami's Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. In addition to writing or co-authoring over 100 articles, book chapters and reviews, Dr. Chang is one of the most sought after lecturers on medical and surgical retina in the world. His numerous awards and citations include the Herman Walker Prize, the W.H. Helmerich Award, The American Academy of Ophthalmology's Senior Honor Award, and numerous elections by his peers to Best Doctors in America™.

Randall Olson, M.D. - University of Utah:
Bausch & Lomb Visiting Professor

Dr. Olson is Professor and Chairman of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences at the University of Utah School of Medicine and Director of the John A. Moran Eye Center at the University of Utah. He is one of the most respected and noted ophthalmologists in the country with a practice focused on all areas of cornea and external disease, as well as other anterior segment disorders. He has a special interest in intraocular lens related complications.

He received his medical degree at the University of Utah School of Medicine and completed his residency at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at the UCLA School of Medicine. He completed a subsequent fellowship training at the University of Florida and the Louisana State University Eye Center. He is the author of more than 300 professional publications and a worldwide lecturer. In addition to specializing in research dealing with intraocular lens complications, Dr. Olson also specializes in teleophthalmology and corneal transplantation techniques. He was selected as one of the 15 best cataract surgeons in the United States in a peer survey conducted by Ophthalmology Times. Cataract and Refractive Surgery Today named Dr. Olson as one of 50 international opinion leaders and has appeared numerous times in Best Doctors in America™.

Richard Hertle, M.D. - University of Pittsburgh

Dr. Hertle is Chief of Pediatric Ophthalmology at Childrens Hospital in Pittsburgh and Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He is one of the leading investigators in the area of nystagmus and eye movement disorders in the United States.

Dr. Hertle received his medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Universities and completed his residency in ophthalmology at Boston University Medical Center. He completed fellowships at Case Western Reserve University and Childrens Hospital in Philadelphia. An avid researcher and publisher, Dr. Hertle has over 70 refereed publications and almost as many abstracts, editorials, reviews and invited lectures. He currently serves as a reviewer for the Journal of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science, Journal of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, Optometry and Vision Science and Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science.

Robert Noecker, M.D. - University of Pittsburgh

Robert Noecker, MD, is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology, Vice Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology, and Director of the Glaucoma Service of UPMC Eye Center. His research interests include imaging of the eye and ocular pharmacology.

Dr. Noecker received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed his ophthalmology residency at the Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina and his Glaucoma Fellowship at the New England Eye Center, Tufts-New England Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.

Julian Perry, M.D. - Cole Eye Institute

A Native of Rochester, New York, Dr. Perry specializes in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Cleveland Clinic's Cole Eye Institute were he is a two-time Cole Eye Institute Resident Teacher of the Year Award recipient. His specialty interests include aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelid, forehead and midface, and his research interests include the study of new surgical techniques in oculofacial surgery and novel therapies for thyroid related orbitopathy.

Dr. Perry received his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York, NY, and completed his residency at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He completed a fellowship in neuro-ophthalmology at Wilmer Eye Institute in Baltimore, MD, and a fellowship in oculoplastic and orbital surgery at Jules Stein Eye Institute in Los Angeles, CA where he was a Heed Foundation AOS-Knapp Fellow. Dr. Perry has been recognized by the American Academy of Ophthalmology with an Achievement Award and is listed on Best Doctors in America

Perry Rosenthal, M.D. - Harvard University Medical School

Dr. Rosenthal is assistant clinical professor of ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School and founder and president of the Boston Foundation for sight. He is widely recognized as as a leading authority in the therapeutic and vision-rehabilitative use of contact lenses. He is a frequent guest lecturer at national and international professional meetings and the author of many scientific papers on this subject.

Dr. Rosenthal received his undergraduate and medical degrees from McGill University. During his postgraduate training in ophthalmology at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and Harvard Medical School, Dr. Rosenthal founded its first contact lens clinic. This experience introduced him to the unique but unmet potential of rigid contact lenses to restore the sight of people who had become blind from corneal diseases.

Nicholas Volpe, M.D. - University of Pennsylvania

Dr. Volpe is Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Pennsylvania and Director of Ophthalmology Residency Program and Vice Chairman Clinical Practice at Scheie Eye Institute where he specializes in neuro-ophthalmology.

Dr. Volpe completed his medical at the State University of New York Health Science Center and his residency in ophthalmology and fellowship in neuro-ophthalmology at the University Massechusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary at Harvard Medical School.
