The Strong Health Palliative Care Program is designed to help alleviate patient suffering through high-quality pain and symptom management, patient-centered care for those experiencing serious illness, and by providing support for patients or family members and friends. It offers:

The Palliative Care Program at the University of Rochester
The Strong Health Palliative Care Program at the University of Rochester formally began in 1999 with an innovative educational program for undergraduate medical students. Toward the end of 2001, Strong Health initiated an inpatient consultation service, which now includes eleven board certified physician consultants, three board-certified nurse practitioners, medical residents, and an experienced multidisciplinary team that includes these disciplines:
- Social work
- Clergy
- Liaison psychiatry
- Clinical Ethics
- Research and performance improvement
- Bereavement support
- Massage therapy
- Live harp music
