Palliative Care Fellowship
The Palliative Care Program at the University of Rochester Medical Center is currently accepting applications for trainees interested in a one-year clinical adult Palliative Medicine Fellowship beginning July 1, 2009.
The Fellowship includes multidisciplinary clinical training, course work, mentored teaching and research in a unique environment featuring innovative palliative care interventions, strong relationships with other disciplines within the University, and long-standing leadership and collaboration with community partners and institutions. The trainee will be responsible for care of inpatients and outpatients in varied settings, including a large academic teaching hospital with acute inpatient and ambulatory care services, hospice/home care, and nursing home comfort care. An individualized learning plan provides opportunities within the curriculum comprising tutorials, seminars, teaching, and formal courses. The fellowship includes protected time to pursue a mentored research project, and provides one-on-one mentoring from nationally recognized leaders in the field. Preferred candidates will be Board Eligible or Board Certified by an ABMS-recognized board.
