Live Harp Music

A harpist plays music for a patient
Sandy Gianniny, Harpist, plays music at a patient's bedside.

Live harp music is provided in the hospital at the patient’s bedside to create a healing and calming environment. As part of the palliative care team, our harpist is in contact with the health care providers.

After consulting with the patient and family to discover musical preferences, our harpist selects the style of music that will give the greatest joy to the patient.

Patients can simply listen to the live harp music without feeling the need to talk or interact with the harpist. Harp music offers opportunities to experience:

  • A calm, peaceful environment
  • Encouragement
  • Inspiration
  • Support
