Splints/Orthotics

These two words are used interchangeably. Splints are custom fabricated or fitted to provide support, protection, or correction to your limb in order to improve function, decrease pain, and/or increase range of motion.

Strong Health occupational therapists are skilled at assessing all aspects that go into the proper design and fabrication of a splint Understanding medical need, specific protocols, attributes of materials, ideal placement on the extremity, and the practicality of use are critical to healing. Specific diagnosis require specific protected positions to be maintained. Our detailed knowledge of hand function allows us to design and fabricate the orthotic that is right for you.
