Weight Loss Tools For Physicians
Believe in the Power of Healthy Living
This tool helps individuals personally address their readiness to change their lifestyle and adopt healthy behaviors in order to lose weight. The tool recommends strategies to begin a weight loss program through self-assessment of both diet and physical activity and to establish goals in both of these areas. This tool was created in partnership with Wegmans and the Nutrition and Weight Management Center at the University of Rochester School of Nursing.
Hints for Weight Control
This is a very high-level piece that introduces the concept of calorie counting for weight control. It's a good tool to use for trial or reinforcement. A significant weight loss goal will likely require a more detailed diet and possibly individual nutrition counseling.
Calorie-Specific Diets
These low fat, low cholesterol diets were developed in 1200-Calorie, 1500-Calorie and 1800-Calorie levels. Once the appropriate calorie level is determined with the help of the provider or nutritionist, these diets give patients a place to start recognizing portion control and calorie monitoring. These diets are applicable for individuals who are attempting to loose weight as well as those managing heart disease.
