Developmental Disabilities
Older adults with developmental disabilities are living longer, healthier lives because of better health care, improved nutrition, and other health risk-reducing strategies. For example, in 1970, only about 11% of the adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in this country were over age 55. Projections indicate that by the year 2040, that percentage will double. Strong Health will be there, understanding the challenges in delivering health care and responding with real help.
