George L. Charpied, M.S., CCC-SLP
Director, Department of Speech Pathology
Mr. Charpied received his Bachelor's degree from California State University, Sacramento and his Master's degree from Memphis University. He serves as Director of Speech Pathology for all of its sites (Highland Hospital, Clinton Woods and Crossings, and in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Services). He joined URMC/Strong Health in 2005.
Mr. Charpied is certified to perform FEES and serves as a trainer for other speech pathologists in the Rochester area. His special areas of interest include adult dysphagia (oropharyngeal and esophageal), voice disorders, and tracheosotmy-dependent, post-surgical patients, and those with progressive neurological disorders. His research interests include the anatomy of the larynx, the neurophysiologic basis of laryngeal function, and the use of computers to quantify motor behavior.
