James Gangemi , M.D.

Dr. James Gangemi is originally from Rochester, NY. He received a B.A. degree in biology from Johns Hopkins University in 1992, and his M.D. at the University of Rochester School of Medicine in 1996.
He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Virginia Health System in 2003. During his residency at UVA he spent two years in the Thoracic and Cardiovascular Research Laboratory as a research fellow (1998-2000). He then completed a cardiothoracic surgical fellowship, also at the University of Virginia in 2005, followed by a year as a fellow in pediatric cardiac surgery at the University of Rochester (2005-2006).
In July of 2006, he joined the faculty as an assistant professor in the Cardiac Surgery Division at the University of Rochester.
