About Us

Welcome to the Division of Colorectal Surgery, one of the linchpins of the Department of Surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

As a division of the Department of Surgery, we are proud of our long-standing tradition of providing the world-class clinical care integrated with a strong heritage in basic and clinical science research, and excellent education programs. The Department of Surgery's efforts represent that of faculty, residents, physicians, scientists, nurses, staff and trainees working in concert to help patients.

Division of Colorectal Surgery

The Division of Colorectal Surgery offers a wide array of services for patients with colon, rectum and intestinal diseases. We have a expertise in treating:

• Anal and rectal diseases
• Benign diseases of the colon
• Colorectal diseases
• Gastrointestinal cancers (e.g., anal, colon, rectal, etc.)
• Hernias
• Inflammatory bowel disease
• Lower gastrointestinal (GI) problems
• Weight loss (bariatric) surgery

Advanced Treatment For the Aging

The Division of Colorectal Surgery also provides a full gamut of geriatric surgical specialties with special emphasis on the care of aging patients with surgically correctable diseases.
