Breast Biopsy
A "needle biopsy" of breast tissue is performed under local anesthesia. The needle is placed into the breast tissue where a cyst or lump has been found and is used to draw out a sample of fluid and tissue. The withdrawn fluid and tissue is then evaluated to determine if there are cancerous cells present.
