Intestinal (Small Bowel) Transplant Surgery

The Solid Organ Transplantation and Hepatobiliary Surgery Division at the University of Rochester Medical Center is one of the few facilities in the country that offers intestinal transplant surgery. We provide small bowel transplants only and those in combination with other organs. Small bowel transplants are still considered investigational treatments for adult and pediatric patients. Nevertheless, many patients go on to improve their quality of life.
