Radiofrequency Treatment

Another new, exciting procedure! Also known as The Closure® procedure, radiofrequency treatment is a non-invasive alternative to vein stripping. We insert a small catheter through a needle stick in the skin and into the damaged vein. Then we insert a radiofrequency generator into the vein through the catheter and we send radiofrequency energy to the vein wall. This causes the vein to heat. As it warms, it collapses and closes. (Basically, the high heat destroys the varicose and spider veins.)

Radiofrequency treatment allows our surgeons to target very specific areas of the vein without harming nearby healthy tissues or vessels. The procedure is done under local anesthesia. After treatment, you’ll need wear a bandage or compression stocking to help with circulation.
