Behavior Modification
Also called "bladder retraining," this therapy requires
an awareness of how much fluid you drink, how often you urinate,
and how often you experience incontinence. Your doctor will probably
recommend that you keep a journal of this activity over a period
of time. You then begin to develop urinary control by gradually
increasing the time between urinating, or urinating at specific
intervals or times of day. You may also be asked to limit your
intake of certain fluids that irritate the bladder, or avoid drinking
anything close to bedtime.
