Testes Infection

An infection that occurs in one or both testicles (also called orchitis) is typically caused by a bacterial infection in the epididymis (the tube that connects the vas deferens and the testicle) or can be caused virally by mumps. In some cases, it can also be considered a sexually transmitted disease. Symptoms include scrotal swelling and tenderness, fever, discharge from penis, painful urination, painful intercourse or ejaculation, groin or testicular pain, or blood in the semen.
