The Benefits

In addition to the comprehensive benefits package provided by the University, the Department of Urology provides the following:

Book Allowance

Each resident receives a book allowance of $250 per year. The department subscribes to the Journal of Urology and Urology for each resident, if requested. Book allowances are cumulative. Within the first six months in the program, each PGY-3 resident also receives the most recent edition of the three-volume set of Urology by Campbell and Harrison; W.B. Saunders, publisher. Substitutions for the Campbell purchase are acceptable.

Travel

The department provides support to residents who are scheduled to present scientific work, as “first authors” at meetings of approved scientific organizations (Annual AUA meeting, Northeastern AUA meeting, American College of Surgeons meeting). Residents who have attended such meetings are expected to submit their work for publication within 30 days following the conclusion of the meeting.

Vacation

A maximum of 20 days vacation is allowed each year and must be taken during the year of appointment. Vacation time is not cumulative.
