Mammography Recommendation:

The American Cancer Society recommends that women 40 or older should have a mammogram every year.

Your medical history and condition may require a variation of this schedule. Consult your doctor to establish a schedule tailored for you.

As you know, early detection is the key to successful cancer treatment. At the Highland Breast Imaging Center, you can be assured of a thorough, highly accurate mammogram from experienced professionals who focus exclusively on breast care.

You’re busy–you don’t have time to spend hours waiting to be screened or to get results. We make it easier with:

  • An efficient process, done at your convenience
  • Two scheduling options for routine appointments–results while you wait or have your results mailed for a shorter appointment time
  • Saturday morning appointments available the second Saturday of every month
  • No referrals necessary for screening mammograms–just call us for an appointment
  • Double reads–two radiologists review your images to ensure accuracy
  • If you need a biopsy, one can often be done at the time of your visit
  • Mammogram and biopsy results sent to your primary care provider or gynecologist (in fact, we're in constant communication with your doctor about your biopsy)
  • Two convienient locations–500 Red Creek Drive (near Marketplace Mall) or 1000 South Avenue (inside Highland Hospital)
  • Convenient free parking–just a few steps away from the lobby of Highland Hospital
  • A warm, relaxed, private setting–no crowded waiting rooms
  • Friendly, supportive professionals who will put you at ease
  • The peace-of-mind of knowing that dedicated breast care centers are your best opportunity for accurate readings–which can translate into fewer unneeded biopsies and fewer missed cancers

More about mammography.

Because the effectiveness of mammography as a breast cancer detection technique is directly related to the quality of mammography procedures, Congress enacted MQSA (Mammography Quality Screening Act). This statute establishes requirements for the accreditation, certification, and inspection of facilities to ensure that all women have access to high-quality mammography services. The Highland Breast Imaging Center is fully accredited under MQSA.
