After Delivery

Postpartum Physician Visit

Your postpartum visit will occur about 6 weeks after your delivery. It is an important step in ensuring that you are recovering well from your childbirth experience. An internal exam will be done to ensure that your uterus and perineum are healing well. If you have not had your yearly Pap smear, it can be done at this visit. Some birth control devices are refitted or reinserted at this visit. Urine and blood tests may be done to further assess your health. Your breasts will be examined as well.

If you experience any problems or have other concerns before this appointment, please be sure to call your health care provider.
