Middle School, High School & College Students

We know you're a hard-working group.
So Strong Memorial Hospital and Highland Hospital have many ways to help nursing students broaden their experience and pay for their studies.

Nurses play a crucial role in hospital care — and we hope students plan their careers here.

Nurse Shadowing Experiences

Shadowing is a great way to experience the day of a hospital nurse. If you are a nursing student wondering what area you would like to work in, shadowing gives you the chance to explore.

  • Help students complete a RN degree program
  • Increase the number of new registered nurses committed to work at Strong Memorial Hospital and Highland Hospital

Our program offers student loans to RN degree students, including employees of the University of Rochester, who agree to work at Strong Memorial Hospital after graduation. These students are eligible:

  • Those who have been accepted into a full-time associate degree nursing program
  • Part-time students who can complete the program in two years or less
  • Baccalaureate students with two years or less left in their program
  • Those who are not receiving financial assistance in exchange for other employment

Benefits and requirements:
