What is a Coronary Angioplasty?
A coronary angioplasty is a procedure performed to widen a narrowed heart artery in order to improve the blood supply to the heart.
Before your coronary angioplasty, you will have an appointment with your cardiologist and/or a nurse practitioner. This appointment may include the following:
- Physical exam
- Review of your medications, including instructions on what you may take before and following the procedure
- Blood tests
- Electrocardiogram (EKG)
