That’s why we’ve developed a unique protocols that dramatically decreases the time it takes for patients to receive treatment. Under these protocols:
- Many patients from partner nursing homes and assisted living facilities can bypass the emergency department and be admitted directly to the Geriatric Fracture Center.
- Patients brought in to our emergency department receive priority evaluation and are fast-tracked through the emergency department to ensure that they receive treatment without delay.
- Patients are rapidly seen and evaluated by both orthopaedic and Geriatric Medicine specialists (or their primary care doctor) and prepared for surgical repair of the broken bone.
