Peptide guides, organized by what you're researching

In-depth, physician-reviewed guides covering the peptides most commonly used in clinical practice, grouped by the outcome you're working toward.

Skin, Hair & Aesthetics

Copper peptides and collagen for skin, hair, and acne, plus a cautionary look at tanning peptides.

Do Peptides Work for Skin? What Copper Peptides and Collagen Can Do

Topical GHK-Cu (copper peptide) has laboratory and small human-study evidence for collagen, elastin and firmness, oral collagen peptides have trial data for hydration, and injectable GHK-Cu has no human efficacy trials; sunscreen plus a retinoid remain the best-proven anti-aging steps.

Do Peptides Regrow Hair? Copper Peptides vs. Minoxidil and Finasteride

Copper peptides lengthen human hair follicles in laboratory culture, but no clinical trial shows they regrow hair; minoxidil and finasteride have randomized trials with measured hair-count gains, so peptides are at best a supporting step.

Do Peptides Help With Acne? What the Evidence Shows

No peptide has clinical-trial evidence for clearing active acne. Copper peptides (GHK-Cu) have a plausible role in post-acne skin repair, while retinoids, benzoyl peroxide, antibiotics and hormonal therapy remain the first-line treatments.

Are Tanning Peptides Safe? Melanotan II Risks and the One Approved Exception

No. Melanotan II is unapproved and unregulated, and dermatologists have documented eruptive moles and melanoma in users; the only approved melanocortin peptide, afamelanotide, treats a rare light-sensitivity disorder, not cosmetic tanning.

Do Collagen Peptides Work? What the Trials Show for Skin, Joints and Muscle

Yes, modestly and for specific outcomes: 2.5–10 g of hydrolyzed collagen a day improved skin elasticity and activity-related joint pain in randomized trials, 40 mg of undenatured type II collagen cut knee osteoarthritis scores by 33%, and 15 g with resistance training added more lean mass in older men.

The complete peptide molecule library

The guides above are organized by goal. The library below answers "what is this peptide?" with one physician-reviewed page for every compound we prescribe: what it is, how it works, and how our physicians use it.

How Peptide Therapy Works at Strong Health

Real medicine. Pharmacy-grade peptides.

STEP 1

Initial physician evaluation

In-person visit at our Miami (Brickell) clinic, or a telehealth consult in our other metros. Health history, exam, and discussion of goals and prior treatment.

STEP 2

Comprehensive lab panel

Hormones (testosterone, estradiol, IGF-1), metabolic markers, and any peptide-specific labs needed for your protocol.

STEP 3

Individualized protocol

Your physician selects peptides, dosing, and timing based on your labs, goals, and any contraindications. Compounded by a licensed pharmacy.

STEP 4

Ongoing monitoring

Follow-up labs and check-ins at 8–12 weeks. Protocols adjusted based on response, side effects, and progress toward your goals.

Common Questions

About peptide therapy

What are peptides used for in clinical practice?

Peptides are chains of amino acids. Some are approved medications for specific indications; others are investigational substances marketed for healing, sleep or body composition. The word peptide does not establish effectiveness or safety. Evaluate the exact product, studied population and measured human outcome rather than assuming the category has one evidence base.

Are peptides legal in Florida?

Compounding access depends on the substance, route and current federal and state requirements. The October 2026 HHS policy describes conditional enforcement discretion for specified substances under section 503A. It does not establish FDA approval, proven benefit or blanket 503B access. A prescription alone does not resolve these requirements.

How are peptides different from steroids or HGH?

Anabolic steroids introduce synthetic androgens that override the body's hormonal system. Direct HGH bypasses the pituitary and creates artificially elevated growth hormone levels. GH-secretagogue peptides instead stimulate the pituitary to release more of your body's own growth hormone in its natural pulsatile pattern, which does not establish greater safety or better clinical outcomes. Healing peptides like BPC-157 and TB-500 work through entirely different pathways than steroids and have no androgenic effect.

How long does it take to see results from peptide therapy?

There is no dependable timeline that applies to peptide therapy as a category. Results from an approved medication trial do not establish when an investigational product or combination will work. Discuss the specific evidence, measurable goals, monitoring and reasons to stop with your clinician rather than relying on standard weeks-to-benefit claims.

Do peptides require physician supervision?

Safety and expected benefit depend on the exact medication, indication and patient. Investigational peptides have limited human evidence, and clinician supervision cannot remove unknown long-term risks. Ask what human outcomes support the proposed use, what alternatives exist and how adverse effects would be identified before agreeing to a treatment plan.

Can peptide therapy be combined with TRT or weight loss programs?

Combination treatment requires a separate review of the exact medicines, indications and interaction risks. Complementary mechanisms do not establish that an investigational peptide improves results alongside TRT or a GLP-1 medication. Discuss established options and the limitations of the human evidence; monitoring does not prove that a combination is effective.
