Common Questions

About peptide therapy

What are peptides used for in clinical practice?

Therapeutic peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as signaling molecules in the body. Under physician supervision, they are used to support tissue healing (BPC-157, TB-500), body composition (Ipamorelin, CJC-1295, Tesamorelin), sleep architecture (DSIP), sexual health (PT-141), and structural connective tissue (collagen peptides). Each peptide targets specific receptors or pathways, which is why protocols are individualized based on goals and lab work.

Are peptides legal in Florida?

Yes, when prescribed by a licensed physician and dispensed through a licensed pharmacy. Several peptides used in clinical protocols are compounded by 503A or 503B pharmacies under physician orders. Strong Health does not work with gray-market or research-only peptides. Every protocol uses pharmacy-grade product with physician oversight and ongoing monitoring.

How are peptides different from steroids or HGH?

Anabolic steroids introduce synthetic androgens that override the body's hormonal system. Direct HGH bypasses the pituitary and creates artificially elevated growth hormone levels. GH-secretagogue peptides instead stimulate the pituitary to release more of your body's own growth hormone in its natural pulsatile pattern, which is generally safer and better tolerated. Healing peptides like BPC-157 and TB-500 work through entirely different pathways than steroids and have no androgenic effect.

How long does it take to see results from peptide therapy?

Timing depends on the peptide and the goal. Sleep and recovery improvements are often noticeable within 2–4 weeks. Body composition changes typically appear at 8–12 weeks with visible lean mass and fat-distribution shifts at 3–6 months. Tendon and joint healing protocols generally run 4–12 weeks depending on tissue involved. All Strong Health peptide protocols include scheduled labs and reassessments.

Do peptides require physician supervision?

Yes. Even peptides with favorable safety profiles require evaluation for contraindications (active malignancy, certain endocrine disorders, pregnancy), dose titration based on individual response, and monitoring of relevant labs (IGF-1, glucose, hormones). Self-sourced or research-grade peptides carry purity, dosing, and contamination risks that physician-supervised protocols are designed to eliminate.

Can peptide therapy be combined with TRT or weight loss programs?

Yes, and many Strong Health patients do exactly that. GH-secretagogue peptides combine well with testosterone replacement for body composition and recovery. Healing peptides are often added during musculoskeletal injury recovery alongside other therapies. GLP-1 weight loss programs can be paired with peptides that protect lean mass during caloric deficit. All combinations are designed and monitored by the prescribing physician.
