Our clinical and research faculty are nationally recognized. Working together to develop the most advanced diagnostics and treatments for a wide range of eye conditions, our faculty members are actively involved in teaching tomorrow’s ophthalmologists in the following areas:

Learn first hand

We emphasize preceptorship in our training. Our well-designed educational program; faculty practice and resident clinics in are all located in the same physical space to promote interaction and first hand experience. Our clinics offer high surgical volumes with close supervision from faculty members.

Part of a top tier medical school, The University of Rochester Eye Institute is home to some of the most influential vision and optics researchers in the world. Experts from the Center for Visual ScienceInstitute of Optics and Center for Aging and Development give our residents the opportunity to explore a wide range of basic science and translational research avenues.

The Bausch and Lomb Visiting Professor Series at the Eye Institute also offers monthly opportunities to interact with national sub specialty experts and learn about the advances in eye care.
