Research

At the Strong Center for Developmental Disabilities (SCDD), we are dedicated to serving the people in our community who have developmental and physical disabilities, helping them live life as independently and productively as possible. Our support extends to people of all ages, their families, and the community at large.

The SCDD has four missions:

  • Clinical services - We provide exemplary diagnostic and treatment services and supports to people with developmental disabilities and their families.
  • Training of graduate and post-graduate professionals We ensure continuation and expansion of care as we provide interdisciplinary education and training to the upcoming generation of professionals.
  • Research - Treatment and prevention of developmental disabilities are greatly improved through the basic and clinical research that takes place every year.
  • Community support and education - Our outreach programs provide support and education to schools and community agencies, families, consumers, and advocates, locally, regionally and statewide, allowing people with developmental disabilities to achieve full inclusion in the community.
