As a large multi-center system, the University of Rochester offers a variety of providers and services intertwined to serve a diverse population. This network of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, allied health professionals and hospitals work in concert with the community to create an enhanced quality of life for patients.

It's this system that provides an ideal setting for teaching the fundamentals of pharmacy practice. Strong Memorial Hospital, where the resident will spend a majority of time, is a 750-bed care center that provides a comprehensive range of general and highly specialized services. The hospital is consistently ranked as one of "America’s Best Hospitals” in U.S. News & World Report magazine’s annual survey.

Various specialties have been recognized among the best in the nation, including cardiac care, neurosurgery, urology, gynecology, cancer and pediatrics. The Department of Pharmacy also has academic affiliations with the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Wegmans School of Pharmacy at St. John Fisher College.

Strong Health is the only organization that has earned the Best Practices Award from ASHP more than once since the award's inception in 1999. The following programs have been recognized for their accomplishments.
