Hernias/Hydroceles

A hydrocele usually develops in a young boy when the opening between the abdomen and scrotum fails to close completely after the testicles drop into the scrotum (usually occurs before birth). At times, this condition can develop later due to inflammation or injury to the scrotum. If a portion of the intestine passes down into the scrotum, it is called an inguinal hernia.
